Col.William C.Rhoads
Col.William Cadell Rhoads
It was found that he is buried 9 miles east of town in the Redman family cemetery. You turn South down a gravel road past a couple of farmhouses to the small well kept cemetery.
The grave site is along the first row graves parallel to the wire fence and road.
He had nine children and a wife when he left home to serve his country in the Civil War. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and he was a Republican. He fought with the Union army with General Sherman in " The March To The Sea."
You can purchase a copy of the DVD recreating the events of the March from Public Broadcasting Radio . There is a part in the movie about the events of Col. W.C. Rhoads regarding a prisoners that was executed.
